  4. Unfortunately TaskFilters has a nasty disagreement on pre RISC OS 3.5 machines
  5. with programs using Acorn's new Toolbox, the reason for which I haven't yet
  6. worked out.

  8. Fortunately it is easily worked around - all you need to do is make sure you
  9. have loaded FilterManager 0.09 *before* running a Toolbox application if
  10. TaskFilters is active.
  11.  
  12. Bizarrely, this fixes the problem.  Initially I thought it was due to
  13. TaskFilters getting upset at having the FilterManager it was installed with
  14. pulled out from under it.  However, TaskFilters does in fact deal with this
  15. correctly - the computer does not freeze until the Toolbox-using application
  16. itself starts up.

  18. If anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong, I would be very grateful if they
  19. let me know.  For now though if you have the Toolbox and RISC OS 3.1x I suggest
  20. uncommenting the line that reads

  22.        | RMEnsure FilterManager 0.09 RMLoad System:Modules.FilterMgr
  23.  
  24. in the file !Filters.!Run (by deleting the '|' character).  This will ensure
  25. that things go smoothly.
